New Jersey Senator Edward Durr and Glassboro Mayor John Wallace visit GCDC Preschool

An exciting start to Week of the Young Child 2023!
Glassboro Child Development Centers hosted a preschool visit for Senator Edward Durr – and we were also joined by his staffer Maria Naugle, Glassboro Mayor John Wallace, United Way of Gloucester County Executive Director Michael Gower and NJAEYC’s Cathy Moran.
The visit and conversation centered on the need for affordable, quality child care, especially for families with infants and toddlers.
We shared information about our United In Care alliance with United Way of Northern New Jersey and how we support ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained, Employed) families.
Glassboro is located in a child care desert – for every 3 babies who need child care, there is only one available slot. We talked about GCDC’s need to expand to serve those babies.
Finally – it was “Tasty Tuesday” and our guests enjoyed sampling new fruits with the kids!
